STRONG & COURAGEOUS  //  SHARING & CARING

I want to thank my dad for all that he has done to make me – Manish Budhdeo

It is difficult on this matter to separate dad and mum, however dad played the bad cop well!

Wielding his handy stick during those Mombasa days, I was inculcated on numerous occasions and on a frequent basis on what’s right and wrong, what’s good and bad.

A wild Budhdeo brat was his challenge to tame!

…And I know that I’m not the only one here today who has been put on the straight and narrow by Vinod bhai Budhdeo.

Dad firstly taught me to respect all humanity. He taught me what it is to be a good man: - 1) son, 2) a brother3) a husband 4) a father 5) a friend and a confidant.

He taught me not to fear failure – to explore my limits… and when I reached them and fell – to pick myself up and learn from them. He taught me to believe in myself and stand up for those beliefs. At the same time to be humble enough by integrating into a wider community respectful of others beliefs.

He grounded me on remaining mentally agile and connected with friends & family. He shared this with me through his extensive network. As I travelled the world, as he loved doing, I met his friends and family that welcomed me with open arms, extending friendships and providing me unique glimpses into my dad’s character – facets of him that he shared very personally with each one.

Whomever I met, always reinforced his positivity and zest for living. For seizing the day and sharing his happiness with all!

As we gather here to mourn my father’s passing away, I would love for us all to spend time together – As dad would have wished – Sharing and connecting over a meal.

Please do join us at Ramada Stage, Wigston for a hot and wholesome Khitchdi.

I thank you all for coming to pay your respects despite the inclement weather.

Jai Shri Krishna
